REGISTRATION FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR IS NOW OPEN!
Recreation & Education for Kids is an after-school program offered through the Vernon Parks & Recreation Department for each of the elementary schools in Vernon. We strive to provide a variety of fun, engaging indoor and outdoor activities to help kids learn, make friends, and have fun after school.
Daily Activities include: Homework time, snack, sports & group games, arts & crafts, table activities, and special activities.
Grades: K-5
Serving: Center Road School, Skinner Road School, Lake Street School, Maple Street School and Northeast School.
Center Road School is the physical location of R.E.K.
Students attending Northeast School, Maple Street School, Lake Street School & Skinner Road School will be bussed to Center Road School at the end of the school day.
Time
End of school day - 6:00pm
R.E.K. Fees
Drop in rate: $27 per day.
Monthly rate varies. It is based on $19.50 per day.
To register, child(ren) MUST be signed up month-by-month using our online registration system.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
In order for the site to run, we must meet a minimum of 12 registered participants daily!
IF SPACE IS NOT AVAILABLE & YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PLACED ON THE WAIT LIST PLEASE EMAIL parksandrec@vernon-ct.gov WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME, THE SCHOOL THEY ATTEND, & IF YOU WOULD LIKE FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME.
Online registration will be made unavailable five working days before the end of the month. If registration is closed you may email us at parksandrec@vernon-ct.gov to inquire about available space.
Any registrations after five business days from the start of the program will be responsible for a 20% late registration fee. Requests for late registrations require a minimum of 48 hour notice from the time the request is PROCESSED (not submitted) by the Parks and Recreation Department. Payment must be made at the time of registration.
