Camp Newhoca

This camp is located at Newhoca Park, at 195 Grier Road, which is on Middle Bolton Lake and goes from 8:00am to 5:00pm.  It is for campers entering grades 1-8 for the 21/22 school year.  This camp features kayaks, canoes & paddle boats, basketball courts, hiking, field games, arts&crafts, and much more!  This camp also has indoor facilities featuring an Arts and Crafts cabin, Game Room, Lodge and an office.

*PLEASE NOTE: when registering, please make sure your child's grade is listed as what they are currently in right now, the computer will automatically progress their grade July 1.


COVID CAMP GUIDELINES
*All groups will be no larger than a 10 campers to 1 counselor ratio
*Campers will have their temperature checked upon arrival each day, anyone with a reading over 100.4 will not be allowed in camp
*Campers and staff will be required to wear masks when inside (except when eating/drinking and during mask breaks)
*Campers and staff will only be required to wear masks when outside if social distancing of 6’ cannot be obtained
*Frequent hand washing/sanitizing will be enforced
*Extra water is encouraged to be brought by campers as water fountains will not be accessible
*In the event someone becomes ill, they will be separated from the group and a parent/guardian will contacted for immediate pick up
 
PAYMENT PROCESS
BEFORE & ON May 21: Registration on or before May 21, must include a completed registration form and at least half (50%) of the total cost to reserve your spot(s), the remainder of the balance is due by June 11 or your spot(s) may be relinquished.
AFTER May 21: Registrations after May 21 must include a completed registration form and full 100% payment for camp to reserve your spot(s).
Forms Of Payment: Cash, Bank Checks, Personal Checks (payable to “Town of Vernon”), Money Orders, Visa, Mastercard or Discover are accepted. Any personal check returned for insufficient funds will incur a $25 fee. 
 
 SCHOLARSHIPS
Vernon residents may call the Vernon Social Services Dept at 860-870-3661 to schedule an appointment to see if eligible for a scholarship. This must be done prior to registering for camp.  Scholarship recipients must bring approved Social Services form, with completed Camp registration form AND payment to the Parks and Recreation Department to complete registration process and secure spots.  NOTE: Scholarship have an expiration date, you must complete the process prior to the expiration date. You can NOT register for camp at Vernon Social Services.
