Mother’s Day Dash race bib design contest
 
Interested in having your artwork featured at this year’s Mother’s Day Dash? Children age 15 and under are invited to submit their designs to be features on a limited number of race bibs at this year’s Mother’s Day Dash 5K.
 
Eligibility & rules
  • Contest open to children age 14 or younger
  • Only one submission per person is allowed
  • All designs must be original and unpublished artwork made without the use of any AI software.
  • Artists must own the rights to the design and it cannot contain any copyrighted or trademark materials
  • Design cannot contain profanity, references to drugs or drug use, or any other content deemed inappropriate by the Board of the Mother’s Day Dash
  • Artwork must be submitted by email to parksandrec@vernon-ct.gov as a JPEG or PNG file. Subject line on the email should read “MDD 2025 race bib contest”
  • Artwork must be submitted with a fully completed submission form (link below)
  • Submission deadline is February 28, 2025
Helpful information
  • The one-to-three-digit race number will appear across the center of the bib
  • The race bib will be 5.75 inches X 7.25 inches
  • Mother’s Day Dash is a 5K race with runners of all ages from Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
  • Mother’s Day Dash is a family race with a special Mother/Son & Mother/ Daughter Division.
  • Mother’s Day Dash provides financial support to Rockville High School student athletes and Vernon Police Explorers and Vernon Parks and Recreation Scholarship fund.
How winner is selected
  • Entries will be evaluated by the Mother’s Day Dash Race committee
  • Concept and originality
  • Adherence to design and submission rules
  • Design clarity and visibility from a reasonable distance
  • Fitting with the Mother’s Day Dash race theme
 
By participating and submitting a design the artist agrees to the use of their artwork by the Town of Vernon, Vernon Parks and Recreation Department & Mother’s Day Dash inc. free of charge for any and all printing and promotional purposes. The winning Artist will receive a race bib featuring their artwork and an event t-shirt from this year’s Mother’s Day Dash.
